How I Am Finding Love in Europe

You might be wondering how on earth a travelling Hong Kong girl finds love in Europe. I mean, I am out of my comfort zone when I travel there. It is a whole other world for me and a new ball game. I need to be looking for love options everywhere I go. These are the top 5 ways that I have personally used to find love in Europe, and especially  in the UK. This is particularly useful at this time of year with office parties, Halloween, Guy Fawkes night and of course Christmas all coming soon.

How I Am Finding Love in Europe

1.Countryside Retreats in Devon
Devon in south western England is a perfect spot to relax. It has a real countryside charm to it and I have spent many great days there. To find love before enjoying your countryside weekend retreats, I usually head to a well known Devon dating site, where I build up my profile and reach out looking for a partner. The best advice I can give is to use a real photo and be honest and true about everything. This way, you will have no problems when meeting your potential love.

2.Blind Dating
Have you ever thought about blind dating? By that I mean you do not see a photo of the date before the night you actually meet. It can mean you end up with an ugly fat guy, or equally a handsome slim hunk. It’s a huge risk of course but if you love surprises then I recommend it highly! As well as the famous Cilla Black TV show Blind date, there are many other ways to arrange a blind date.

3.Online Dating
The range of websites online is now huge. Just head to Google and check – you will be shocked! Some of the dating sites are also very regional and local now. From Northern Irish dating sites to dating sites in Devon, you are completely spoilt for choice these days. Once you fill in your profile and add your photos, be sure to maintain honesty in your quest for real love. It shouldn’t take you long to at least line up a coffee evening or a cinema outing. Be yourself and get dating people you met online!

4.Mobile App Dating
With Smart Phones all the rage now, mobile app dating has never been easier. Simply download a dating app such as Zoosk or Tinder, get logged in and get swiping and sending messages. You never know how love can start – yes it can really be the start of a long and happy love life from a mobile app!

5.Speed Dating
How about dating 15 guys on one night!? Yes, you can and you can head speed dating where 15 single guys and 15 single girls have a chance to meet each other, impress each other and interact with each other. The best part of this is you get 3 quick minutes with each date and pick your favourites. It’s an easy and relaxed way to start a new romance. Plus it’s honest as it is face to face.

So anyway good luck on your quest for love in Europe. My journey continues!

Best Time of Year To Find a Date On Your Travels

With so many action packed days and festivals coming up, this really is the best time of year to find a new love. You will certainly not be lost for options on where to take out your potential date to. Whether you are a Tinder expert, a Facebook flirter or you just joined a yorkshire dating site , you are ready to make the first move. Here are 5 superb festivals and excuses over the next few months where you can meet your next love and truly feel the freedom.

1.Halloween
It’s a scary time for all on the 31st October. You better put a penny in the old man’s hat. The trick or treaters will be out and people will dress up ready for the horrors of Halloween, until the madness is over for another year…wear what you want, look your best.

2.Guy Fawkes Night

English dude Guy Fawkes is forever remembered as the man who didn’t blow up the parliament! He tried his best though, back in 1605. Also known as Guido Fawkes while fighting for the Spanish, Fawksey was a member of a group of English Catholics who planned the failed “Gunpowder Plot”. Fawkes was born and educated in York, England – the capital of Yorkshire. But sod all that, head on a Guy Fawkes pilgrimage to his hometown of York, having confirmed a hot (pun intended) date thanks to your persistence on dating sites in yorkshire.

Get icy at Christmas

3.Christmas
Cliched and obvious, but Christmas is a cold time so an ideal time for an indoor date with someone new. You lose your inhibitions in the cold snow, and sit and chat and get cosy by a warm fireplace watching a movie together.

4.Hogmanay/Sylwester/New Year’s Eve/Old Year’s Night
Well the years pass by and you’ll be leaving the 31st December and entering the 1st January. There is no escaping that fact – we have to get old. Whatever name you give to Old Year’s Night or Hogmanay, it’s a good change to bring a new love possibility on a night out to do the countdown together. In fact you could even have a romantic kiss before midnight, or you might even get your first kiss of the new year just after the bell strikes for a new year. If it all goes wrong, there are of course many sites for senior dating online, before you get too old, hook up with a fellow grey haired beauty and do the business…or for the youngsters, go diving in the snow.

5.Chinese New Year
Of course last but not least, but as a travelling Hong Kong Girl, I celebrate Chinese New Year annually and find it is a wonderful time to eye up a potential date. Forget the past relationships and what happened in the past year and start afresh. Next year will be 2019, Chinese Year of the Pig, starting on February 5th 2019. Plus Easter is now coming, and the weather is improving from here on it, so head out to the countryside and admire the views.

So I hope you find the courage to approach and gain a new partner.

Dating Sites for the Hong Kongers Based in the UK

If you are a Hong Kong person on the road (or a Polish lass), it can be hard to find true love and the more the years go on, the harder that struggle gets. However, the best time of year to look for love starts now – THIS week! You might ask me why? Well it’s because Halloween is coming, and then on the 5th November it will be Guy Fawkes night. Then we have Thanksgiving, then Christmas then New Year, then Chinese New Year. These events are great reasons to meet up and be cheerful with new and potential dates. If you are a Hong Kong or Polish person living in the UK, here are some tips on how to find real love online the next few months.

1.Dorset Dating

For those based on the south coast, in Dorset, check out the Dorset dating site for a clear and easy way to meet new single people. Bournemouth is a party capital with lots going out. Check out all the student bars and clubs and the option to dress up all sexy for Halloween, with girls with fake blood scars and guys dressed as skeletons, you can ghost in and come out of your closet! There are so many dating sites in Dorset that it will be easy for you to find a partner, at least for a few dates…

2.Older Dating

Don’t worry if you’re getting old, with saggy t*ts and shrinking willies, you can still find love online or offline with people in a similar position. Really! Just check out the huge range of senior dating sites out there. Get signed up and start flirting! But do be honest about your age. Don’t be saying you are 50 when in fact you are 73! Also it is important to be real and honest in the photo. If you have grey hair, don’t be ashamed – your date might love it!

3.Speed Dating

Ah the classic – speed dating! You get 3 minutes to impress your “date” and then you move on. So wear your best clothes and smile, smell good and be confident. This could be the first step towards everlasting love. Couples have even been known to kiss during the 3 minutes! Now that is what I call love at first sight!

4.Nude Dating
Forget sending willy pics or requesting for a topless beach nude, how about the no holes bar nude dating night in London? It’s a speed dating night, carried out in the buff. You whip off your clothes, let your bits hang out and then try to get cosy with potential dates, who are also nude! If it’s not for you, there is also nude yoga in London, which is not as embarrassing as it sounds! Northern Irish guys love it, and Polish liars too.

These are just a few options for Hong Kongers, Polish, Northern Irish (and everyone) living in the UK who are looking for new ways to find love. You can also of course join Dating Agencies, use apps like Tinder and even use Facebook by joining groups. Attending events over the upcoming festive period will also help your chances in finding love!

Good luck!

The Best European Golfing Holidays

The Best European Golfing Holidays

Some ideas for European golf breaks to cater for various tastes and priorities; from convenient and quality golf in the UK to traditional favourites Portugal and Spain.

Youre spoilt for choice when choosing a golf course within easy reach

One of the great attractions of golf is the chance to play in all sorts of conditions around Europe and the world in beautiful and in some cases dramatic surroundings, and on courses trodden by the game’s most famous players.

Many European destinations offer superb golf without having to travel too far.

Here are a few suggestions to inspire that next golfing break.

  1. Portugal: Quinta do Lago, Algarve

Possibly the first place many think of as a golf destination in Europe, the Algarve bristles with golf courses of all types with new ones opening all the time.

The Quinta do Lago area is but one of many parts of the Algarve offering superb golf in an ideal climate especially in the spring, early summer and early autumn.

Quinta do Lago is only about 20 minutes by road from Faro airport, and you can choose from apartment complexes to top notch hotels and have the pick of several golf courses within easy reach of where you’re staying.

The nearby Vilamoura boasts a good half a dozen courses, and there are more courses on your doorstep including the challenging San Lorenzo and Vila Sol – staying in this area puts you within easy reach of some 19 courses.

  1. Spain:Costa del Sol and Murcia

Like the Algarve, Spain is very convenient for a sunshine golf trip.

Within hours of leaving the UK you can be heading for the first tee at somewhere like Valderrama in the Costa del Sol where you can tread the same course that played host to an enthralling Ryder Cup contest in 1997 when the late, great Seve Ballesteros captained Europe to a memorable victory.

Another Costa del Sol course that has hosted pro events – the Volvo World Matchplay Championship was played here for three years – is the Finca Cortesin Golf Club. Beautifully maintained and wonderful sea views make it a must if you’re basing yourself in the Costa del Sol.

The fabled La Manga resort in the Murcia region offers three golf courses at La Manga Golf Club with the West Course arguably being the pick with its wonderful variation of holes.

  1. The UK:Hertfordshire andNorth London

An ideal quick break with excellent transport links, a super hotel as your base and access to several excellent golf courses within a short drive away is possible by booking at the West Lodge Park, a luxury hotel in Hertfordshire.

The hotel is ideal for a convenient and enjoyable golf break; it’s close to the M25 and three international airports and offers various dining options.

The nearby golf courses are some of the best in the north London and Hertfordshire area.

The nearest, Hadley Wood, has a reduced green fee for residents of the West Lodge Park and was described as “a gem” by ‘Golf World’ magazine. Others include the James Braid designed Finchley Golf Club, Verulam Golf Club in nearby St Albans, and Bush Hill Park Golf Club set in superb parkland and with a very reasonable green fee.

With the excellent transport links, luxurious hotel surroundings and close proximity to top class golf, this is also an ideal option if entertaining clients.

  1. Norway:Lofoten

Just to show leaving the UK for European golf isn’t just a choice of Spain or the Algarve, how about Norway and the spectacular island course of the Lofoten Links in the north of the country?

It only opened in 2015 and its views of nearby peaks makes it a spectacular way to play golf. Indeed, if you can’t get enough of this course you can play it 24 hours from the end of May to the end of July as the sun never sets between these times.

On the other hand, if you fancy something other than golf you can see the Northern Lights between the end of August and mid-October.

  1. Italy: Como, Piedmont and Tuscany

Not many imagine Italy as a golf destination, but there are some superb courses so you could easily combine a trip combining the culture of this historic country and some golf action.

Situated in the Como region of northern Italy and affording spectacular views of Lake Montoforno is the picturesque Villa d’Este course winding through trees and woodland.

About half an hour north west from Milan Malpensa airport is the Del Conte and Bonara courses in Bogogno, Piedmont. The super courses have a club house restaurant run by the owner of a Michelin star establishment so you’ll be well rewarded in a culinary sense after working up an appetite while playing your round.

The relaxing southern Tuscany region is host to the Argentario retreat some 90 minutes from Rome’s Fiumicino airport. The course is situated on a sliver of land surrounded by the Tyrrhenian Sea, and nearby luxurious facilities of the retreat include a spa, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a high tech gym and restaurant specialising in home produced Tuscan food.

Plenty of choice

From the easy to reach convenience and quality of north London and Hertfordshire golf courses in the UK to 24 hour golf in Norway, there’s plenty of European options to satisfy the keenest and most dedicated golfer.

Dating Ideas When You Travel

Travelling the world is amazing and I enjoyed most of my favourite moments in life while abroad as a backpacker and tourist. But this does mean you forfeit a life of stability and don’t settle down anywhere. Yes, Hong Kong will always be my home but I am never far away from another adventure.

Over the years of travelling, I have had many dates in various countries and locations. I have worked out the best ways to still date and travel, so here are some of my ideas today.

1.Online Dating Sites
When we travel, we almost also have internet access somewhere and there is normally a free dating site in each area we are in. I tend to set up an account with such sites in advance of my trip and then look for some dating options when I arrive. Just be aware that you should tell the truth but cannot rely on others to tell the truth. Put a real and recent photo up.

2.Dating Agencies in Towns
A more old fashioned method but one which is well trusted and guaranteed to find you a local date on your travels, is to go into an actual dating agency in the town or city you are in. Look them up in advance of your trip and book a meeting when you arrive and they will sort you out with a dinner date in town. Normally it’s a very casual affair and the agency will usually charge a small fee for it – but a good way to hook up and find a potential new romance.

3.Tinder
These days many people love to use apps such as Tinder. You set up a free account on it, and swipe like or not like on each potential match. If two people match, you can get in touch with each other. It’s all legal and fun, though many people use it to have sex rather than long term dating.

4.Hostel Dorms
The good old traditional method of meeting partners and dates in dorms still applies. I love staying in hostels when I travel and I always try to check into a dorm room. You can easily meet guys in dorms and hostel common rooms and spring up a good conversation with them. If it turns into romance, who knows, you may even end up backpacking together and falling in love. You’ll also have a great adventure together

5.Other Online Options
There are other online options such as a dating website, Facebook groups and internet chat rooms. As always you have to be very careful who you are chatting to. Just try and build up a level of trust with people and get to know them online first before you finally meet. You might be pleasantly surprised and meet the love of your life.

As the saying goes, “it’s funny how it always goes in life when you don’t look you find. But then we’re too of a kind, we move as one”.

The Best Travel Spots in China

The Best Travel Spots in China

China is among the most visited countries in the world. Foreign visitors come from different parts of the world and still cannot get enough of this wonderful and attractive place. There is a lot to see here. It has lots of wonderful landscapes besides being a highly cultured country.  There are many common tourist scams when visiting China, be sure to have the best travel insurance for China before leaving.

If you are having plans of paying a visit to China, we should know more about the famous places here. The ones that are very much familiar with the world’s history can count all of the amazing wonders that China has. The following are the places that we can pay a visit to in China:

The Great Wall

It is one of China’s trademarks. It is throughout the world, and people are very much amazed at the amazing architecture of the place, knowing that it is built thousands of years back. It is a UNESCO

World Heritage Site, and also a very popular tourist spot in the country. Travelers never want to miss the opportunity of visiting the Great Wall once they arrive in the country.

Forbidden City

This has been the palace of the late emperors during the Ming and Ching dynasties. The place is called “Gu gong” in Chinese. It is considered as one of China’s pride. Along the years, especially during the wars, the kingdom has been devastated. It has been rebuilt after a few years and made

it with the old one’s architectural design. What we see now in the Forbidden City is exactly what it looks like thousands of years ago. A lot of the country’s history can be seen in the said palace. It is now made as a part museum for all the country’s oldest artifacts.

Temple of Heaven

The temple was built in the years when the Forbidden City was built. It is one of the World Heritage Site. It is now used for Chinese ceremonies and other occasions. But most of the time, the place is used as a tourist spot for visitors.

The temple of Confucius

It is one of the attractive places in China that is found in Beijing. It is such a wide area of 22 thousand square meters. It is also where the 700-year old cypress tree is found which was said to have the power to distinguish the good from the evil.

My Top 5 Train Journeys

On my travels around the world I loved getting trains and you might have read about my ex-boyfriend Jonny Blair and I how we backpacked many borders together by train. I thought I would put together a selection of my top 5 train journeys and hope they inspire you to get out there and see the world too – by train! Here is my list which is just a quick guide today as I plan my next backpacking trip.

1.Georgia to Azerbaijan
The Georgia to Azerbaijan train was a fantastic experience in 2013. We booked our tickets one day in advance and it was a cool night train. We started off in the Georgian capital city of Tblisi and got a night train to Baku in Azerbaijan.

2.Trans-Siberian Russia, Mongolia, China
Every travellers dream when they think of train travel is the Trans-Siberian train. It goes from Moscow through Russia all the way to Vladivostock. You have many options in between though, which include also a stop over in cities so cool and mighty like Irkutsk. There you can see the incredible Lake Baikal, meet the Shamans in the wild and do a tour to Olkhon Island. The best thing it to book some Trans-Siberian railway tours and work out the rest as you go. I simply loved it!

3.North Korea to China train
I loved my 2013 adventure to North Korea with the cool group Young Pioneer Tours. It was a real way to see North Korea and also have fun, with the added bonus of a train out of the country! We boarded that train in the North Korean capital city, Pyongyang and it headed north. We had our passports and visas checked at the border. Then we headed back into China at the city of Dandong. This was a truly memorable train journey and was documented before by my ex-boyfriend on the North Korea to China train article he wrote.

4.Northern Ireland to Republic of Ireland border train
Some naive tourists and those who are simply not well travelled might mistake Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland as one country. The fact remains that the island of Ireland has been segregated since 1921 and there is a really cheap and easy border train you can get from Belfast in Northern Ireland all the way down south into Dublin, the capital of the Republic of Ireland. When I backpacked on this train in 2012 we didn’t even have our passports checked or stamped. I remember the countryside was just amazing and I recommend it for any tourists. It was magical and wonderful and I loved my two trips to Northern Ireland.

Northern Ireland

5. Iran – Tehran to Mashhad Night train
Our overland trip in Iran in 2013 was sensational. We met a local couple on the night train from Tehran to Mashhad and it was marvellous! The beds were cosy and we also had free tea and coffee. At the end of the train, the amazing Imam Reza Shrine was waiting for us.

Women’s World Cup 2017

The sporting calendar of 2017 is filled with many exciting events. Among these events is the Women’s World Cup 2017. The global sporting platform is a once every four years event. This year the champions get to defend their title in England and Wales.
Women’s World Cup 2017

Although the women’s World Cup is less popular than the men’s equivalent it does command a large legion of followers. Not just gamblers looking to make real money by betting either at online gambling sites or at land based establishments. Online gamblers are real supporters of the sport, possibly enough to fill Lord’s. Just like the guys. You can visit www.toponlinecasinos.co.za for more information.

There are 8 teams participating in the Women’s World Cup 2017.  The favourites to win the tourney are England. This is because they are home.  However, they will face stiff competition from the other teams. They will be playing a single league format. This means each team gets to play all the other teams at least once.

Other teams that will be contending for the top spot are traditional women’s cricket powerhouses. Teams that have dominated the world of women’s cricket over the years. However, all the teams are coming to the World Cup with the sole intention of bringing the cup home.

The tournament promises to be as entertaining as or even more spectacular than all the other previous editions. As a sporting event the women’s World Cup has managed to gather a lot of support from the corporate world. The high level of professionalism and talent displayed by the ladies over the years has caught the attention of the world. This has led to the sporting event having a large viewership. It is the large audience that the sport commands that has increased the money coming to the sport. After all everyone wants to be associated with what is popular.

Despite the potential to make money at the event, the sport is very fun. Everyone involved in the tournament regardless of the financial rewards will enjoy watching the ladies battle it out. Even if they do not the rest of the world definitely will.

Best Events in London, England

London sits at the top the rankings for three major independent indices, it is the world’s leading destination for sporting events, global events, some music festivals and I love it more on every visit. The city has an unrivalled range of world class facilities available, and also the expertise to develop suitably world-class events to fill them. With huge stadiums, a range of sports and a passionate culturally rich population, here are some of the best events in London.
Best Sporting Events in London

Premier League at Wembley – Tottenham Hotspur FC

This season you can watch live Premier League football at Wembley Stadium. This is something unusual as the venue is normally for internationals and special cup matches like semi finals and finals. However, for 2017 – 2018, Tottenham Hotspur FC will play their home matches here, due to the fact that they are building a new White Hart Lane, in virtually the same spot. So take advantage of this and get over to Wembley to cheer on the Spurs.

Rugby at Twickenham Stadium

Innit mate? Nothing beats a good old rugby afternoon out at “Twickers”, i.e. Twickenham. This huge rugby stadium is in West London, not too far from Chiswick or even where the Queen lives out at Windsor. The best matches here are the Rugby Six where England play against Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Italy and France for the trophy. Also on the agenda are scattered rugby internationals, British Lions matches and some league games.

IAAF World Athletics Championships

The World Athletics Championships will take place at The Stadium in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The World Athletics Championships in Beijing, in 2015, saw lots of fantastic performances. Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park hosted the 2012 Olympics and is now preparing to bring back the roar with 3,300 athletes from across the globe battle it out for world domination. It is estimated that up to 4,000 volunteers will play a key role in the running of the 20 days of the Championships.

Wimbledon Tennis Tournament

I remember watching Only Fools and Horses a few years ago when Trigger got Boycie some tickets for “Wimbledon” (or maybe it was Del Boy?). In that show, Rodney asked him “and did you?” Boycie said “Yes, they drew 0-0 with Ipswich!” Del Boy or Trigger had got tickets for Wimbledon FC back in the 1990s rather than the Wimbledon tennis tournament, how hilarious!!

Yoga and Nudist Events

These days, London plays host to lots of unusual and interesting events. You might have read from Jonny’s blog about the naked yoga in South London or other cool nudist events. For those into the amorous side of things, a night on the town in Soho offers up lots of crazy alternatives, you can find out some more here. There are lots of new creative events taking place and you are never far from a party here in this town.

These are just five of many cool events in London during the year. If you want to enjoy these events in person, make sure you book yourself into one of the cheap & budget hotels in Acton near Twickenham Stadium or in north London near Wembley Stadium to stay in close to the action.
